According to The Financial News, Son Heung-min, the "living legend" of MLS club LAFC, is winning over local fans even off the pitch. This time, it is not his spectacular goal-scoring, but his down-to-earth choice of transportation that has become the talk of the town.
On the 20th (local time), a video of Son Heung-min driving through downtown Los Angeles was posted on Instagram. In the clip, Son is seen at the wheel of a Genesis GV80 Coupe, a premium SUV from Korean brand Genesis, personally driving himself around the city.
Within just two days of being uploaded, the video surpassed 680,000 views and sparked an explosive reaction. What moved fans even more was Son Heung-min's manners. While waiting at a traffic light, he noticed fans recognizing him and cheering, and without hesitation he rolled down the window, flashed a smile as bright as his trademark "click" goal celebration, and waved back to them.
This is not the first time Son Heung-min has shown his fondness for Genesis. Last November, he was also spotted getting out of the same model after finishing a training session.

According to global sports outlet Surprise Sports, Son Heung-min's estimated net worth is about £57.7 million (around 112.6 billion won). Despite earning an annual salary of roughly 16 billion won, he has chosen a Korean brand over the multi-hundred-million-won European supercars he could easily afford, which has come as a refreshing surprise to fans at home and abroad.
Local fans have praised him, saying, "He’s frugal, and you can feel his patriotism," and, "True class comes not from the car you drive, but from the driver's manners."
After leaving behind his legendary career at Tottenham Hotspur and moving to the United States, Son Heung-min has become an icon of MLS, not only for his skills but also for his strict self-discipline and exceptional fan service.
Even with overwhelming wealth, he remains humble and, while living abroad, naturally promotes the excellence of Korean brands. His behavior goes beyond that of a mere sports star and resembles that of an unofficial ambassador for his country.
