[The Financial News] A recent video that RM of the group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) posted on his social media after obtaining his driver’s license has gone viral, drawing intense interest in the car he was driving.
On the 18th, RM uploaded a video to his Instagram with the caption, "Let’s do this with a smile. I’m cracking up too." The clip shows him personally behind the wheel, gripping it tightly with both hands and focusing on the road, his expression looking somewhat tense and stiff.
The video drew attention mainly because of the car model he was driving. Given his enormous market value as a global K-POP star, many assumed RM would be behind the wheel of a high-end supercar worth hundreds of millions of won.
However, based on the steering wheel emblem and interior display seen in the video, online users have speculated that the vehicle appears to be a compact SUV from Hyundai Motor Company, with new models starting in the 28 million won range. The fact that RM seems to be using a domestic car rather than a supercar has further fueled public interest.
The car’s exact model, year, and whether it is owned or rented have not been confirmed. Since RM revealed that he obtained his driver’s license in December last year, some have also suggested that he may be using a rental car while practicing as a novice driver.
