KOSPI Rises for Fourth Straight Session to 5,969.64 [fn Closing Market Report]

According to The Financial News, the KOSPI extended its gains, supported by net buying from institutional investors.
On the 24th, the KOSPI closed at 5,969.64, up 123.55 points, or 2.11%, from the previous session.
The index opened at 5,853.48, 7.39 points, or 0.13%, higher than the previous day.
In the Korea Exchange Securities Market (KOSPI market), institutional investors bought 2.5086 trillion won worth of shares, driving the index higher. In contrast, retail investors and foreigners sold 2.3459 trillion won and 244 billion won worth of shares, respectively.
Most large-cap stocks by market capitalization were strong. Samsung Electronics and SK hynix climbed 3.63% and 5.68%, respectively, with their intraday prices surpassing 200,000 won and 1 million won.
By sector, metals rose 4.59%, followed by electrical and electronics at 4.19%, and manufacturing at 3.07%.
The KOSDAQ Index finished at 1,165.00, up 13.01 points, or 1.13%, from the previous session.
