[The Financial News] The KOSPI is maintaining its upward momentum, supported by net buying from institutional investors.
As of 1:39 p.m. on the 24th, the KOSPI is trading at 5,956.41, up 110.32 points (1.89%) from the previous session.
The index opened at 5,853.48, 7.39 points (0.13%) higher than the previous day. During intraday trading, it climbed as much as 119.78 points (2.05%) to 5,965.87.
In the Korea Exchange Securities Market (KOSPI market), institutional investors purchased 2.1409 trillion won worth of shares, driving the index higher. In contrast, individual investors and foreigners sold 1.9483 trillion won and 220.4 billion won, respectively.
Most large-cap stocks by market capitalization are strong. Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are up 3.42% and 5.15%, respectively, with their intraday share prices surpassing 200,000 won and 1 million won.
By sector, metals are up 4.22%, electrical and electronics 3.84%, and manufacturing 2.73%.
Over the same period, the KOSDAQ Index is trading at 1,160.68, up 8.69 points (0.75%) from the previous session.
