[The Financial News] It has belatedly come to light that a gopchang restaurant run by DJ DOC member Lee Haneul was inspected by the district office. The district office was reportedly dispatched to the scene after video clips and photos of actor Kim Gyu-ri's fan meeting at Lee Haneul's restaurant—showing people singing and dancing—were posted online and some internet users filed complaints.
Earlier this month, Kim Gyu-ri held a small fan meeting with fans at a gopchang restaurant operated by Lee Haneul in Eunpyeong District in Seoul Special Metropolitan City. Videos and photos later uploaded to a social networking service (SNS) showed Kim Gyu-ri dancing to one of Lee Haneul's songs, giving a glimpse of the cheerful atmosphere at the time.
Although the event was an impromptu gesture of fan service, some internet users appear to have reported the restaurant to the district office for allegedly violating the Food Sanitation Act.
Under the Food Sanitation Act, general restaurants are prohibited from installing sound equipment and allowing customers to sing or dance. If this rule is violated, the first offense results in a one-month business suspension, the second offense in a two-month suspension, and a third offense can lead to revocation of the business license or an order to close the establishment.
Speaking on his personal broadcast, Lee Haneul said, "I sang one song, and Kim Gyu-ri, who got excited, started dancing, and they filed a complaint over that single moment," adding, "We weren't running any kind of illegal business, and it's not like this is a place that makes money off this kind of thing, but we were still subjected to an inspection," expressing his frustration.
