President Lee appoints Kwon Young-bin, Kim Jung-min, Kim Ji-mi, and Jin Eul-jong as deputy prosecutors for Second Comprehensive Special Counsel

According to Financial News, President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea appointed four of the deputy special prosecutor candidates requested by Second Comprehensive Special Counsel Kwon Chang-young on the 23rd, Spokesperson Kang Yu-jeong of Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House) announced.
Cheong Wa Dae said on the 24th that the newly appointed deputy special prosecutors are Kwon Young-bin (31st class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), Kim Jung-min (15th class of the Military Judge Advocate General Corps), Kim Ji-mi (37th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute), and Jin Eul-jong (37th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute).
The Second Comprehensive Special Counsel is tasked with investigating unresolved issues and new allegations related to the Three Major Special Prosecutor Investigations — the Special Counsel for Insurrection, the Special Prosecutor for Kim Keon-hee, and the Special Prosecutor for the Investigation of the Death of a Marine. The special counsel team will look into a total of 17 allegations, including matters related to the December 3 Martial Law.
With the appointment of the four deputy special prosecutors, the special counsel team is expected to soon complete preparations for its office, hold a plaque-unveiling ceremony, and then begin its full-scale activities.
The basic investigation period for the Second Comprehensive Special Counsel is 90 days. It can be extended twice, by 30 days each time, and including a 20-day preparation period, the investigation can run for up to 170 days.
