Second National Fire Mobilization Order Issued as Hamyang Wildfire Spreads; Specialized Firefighting Vehicles Deployed

The National Fire Agency (NFA) issued a second national fire mobilization order at 11:15 a.m. on the 23rd to help contain a wildfire in Hamyang County, South Gyeongsang Province. Authorities aim to bring the main blaze under control before sunset.
Under this mobilization order, a total of 20 fire vehicles, including 10 specialized wildfire suppression trucks, will be urgently dispatched to the wildfire site in Hamyang from the Gwangju Fire and Disaster Headquarters, the Daegu Fire and Safety Department, and the North Gyeongsang Fire Headquarters.
The NFA stated, "In cooperation with the Korea Forest Service (KFS) and other related agencies, we plan to deploy all available aerial and ground resources during daylight hours today," adding, "We have concentrated specialized wildfire suppression trucks equipped with hose reels to ensure thorough extinguishing of the main fire and remaining embers."
The wildfire broke out on the 21st in Macheon-myeon, Hamyang County, and has continued to spread. As of 8 a.m. on the 23rd, one vinyl greenhouse had been completely destroyed and 164 residents had been evacuated. The affected area was estimated at 226 hectares, with a fire line length of 7.85 kilometers.
