The Blue House is reviewing the impact of a Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruling that invalidated the Trump administration's "reciprocal tariffs" and will discuss how to respond.
The Blue House announced that on Saturday the 21st at 2 p.m., it will hold a joint meeting of relevant ministries, chaired by Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy Kim Yong-beom and Director of the Office of National Security Wi Sung-lac.
Before that, at 10 a.m. the same day, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) will also convene an emergency meeting.
On the 20th local time, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not grant the president authority to impose tariffs, and therefore President Trump's reciprocal tariffs were unlawful.
The Blue House plans to comprehensively review the SCOTUS ruling and the U.S. government's position and then draw up response measures.
