[Financial News] The Disney+ original series "Made in Korea," starring Jung Woo-sung and Hyun Bin, has become the most-watched Korean original title worldwide among releases to date.
First released on December 24 last year, "Made in Korea" continues to enjoy long-running popularity. According to Disney+ on the 19th, the series ranked No. 1 worldwide in viewership among Korean original content released on Disney+ in 2025. It achieved this milestone just 48 days after its premiere.
Directed by Woo Min-ho, known for the films "The Man Standing Next," "The Drug King" and "Harbin," the project is his first series. It is set in the Republic of Korea in the 1970s, a time marked by both turmoil and rapid growth. The story follows Baek Gi-tae (Hyun Bin), a man who seeks to use the state itself as a profit model to reach the pinnacle of wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), who relentlessly pursues him to the brink. Together, they become entangled in major events that define the era.
Previously, among Disney+ Korean originals released in 2025, the series had already ranked No. 1 in viewership both in Korea and in the Asia-Pacific region, and it has now extended its success to the global stage.
Following the six-episode first season, Season 2 is scheduled to be released within the year.
