In a video message titled "A Lunar New Year for Everyone, Made More Special Together," released on the 17th, President Lee Jae-myung and his wife Kim Hye-kyung extended their holiday greetings. Wearing neat traditional hanbok, the presidential couple said to the people, "We wish you a very happy New Year."
President Lee said, "To all the people I respect and love, as we welcome the Lunar New Year holiday, I hope you are enjoying a pleasant time with your families after a long while," adding, "Over the past year, thanks to the strength and unity you have shown, everything is returning to its place faster than expected."
He went on to add, "I am deeply grateful to all sovereign citizens who have protected this country on the streets, in your homes, and at your workplaces."
In his Lunar New Year message, President Lee emphasized "national unity." He noted, "Dear citizens, because we live in different places and in different ways, our views of the world and our thoughts can naturally differ," but continued, "However, no matter where we live or what our lives look like, our desire for our children to grow up in a better environment is the same."
He added, "Our wish for the health of our families and neighbors is no different, and what young people and seniors hope for is also not fundamentally different," and then said, "On this Lunar New Year morning of the Byeong-o year (the Year of the Red Horse in the sexagenary cycle), I reaffirm my pledge to be a 'president for all,' who embraces and serves every citizen. Guided by the vision of the Republic of Korea that our people desire, I will move forward step by step, without wavering."

First Lady Kim said, "I pray that your homes will be filled with health and happiness throughout this year as well."
The 3-minute-and-17-second Lunar New Year message released that day featured New Year greetings not only from the presidential couple, but also from citizens across the country, overseas Koreans, the Dokdo Coast Guard Unit, the North Gyeongsang 119 Air Rescue Unit, the national para-athletes team, and members of the national short-track speed skating team for the Winter Olympics.
