Baek Seung-ah, a floor spokesperson for the Democratic Party, issued a written briefing the same day and criticized, "The People Power Party is attacking the president, even using the extreme expression that his communication on social media is a 'serious threat to democracy.'"
Earlier at dawn, Lee shared on X a post claiming that the Jeong Young-rok recording, presented as evidence in the Daejang-dong scandal, had been fabricated by prosecutors. Lee added that this was just one of "countless cases."
In response, the People Power Party argued that the president was "giving guidelines" to law enforcement agencies. Party spokesperson Cho Yong-sul said in a commentary that this went beyond a factual dispute and was "an attempt to incite public opinion and spread his own claims," calling it "a serious threat that shakes democracy."
