[Financial News] Lee Su-ji, known as a master of multiple personas and an all-around entertainer, is now meeting audiences through voice acting.
According to CP Entertainment, a subsidiary of Coupang, on the 11th, Lee Su-ji will appear in a special cameo dubbing role in Disney and Pixar’s new animated film “Hoppers,” which opens on March 4.
“Hoppers” centers on a technology called hopping, which transfers human consciousness into animal robots, and has been dubbed the Disney and Pixar version of Avatar. The film follows an unpredictable adventure as a girl named Mabel, whose consciousness is placed into a beaver robot, infiltrates a strange and mysterious animal world.
Lee Su-ji voices two roles, the insect queen and the insect prince. The original voice of the insect queen is provided by Hollywood actor Meryl Streep, which has already drawn attention, and in Korea, Lee Su-ji is taking over the baton, raising expectations.
Lee Su-ji has created a variety of popular alter-ego characters through television, OTT platforms, and YouTube, thanks to her relatable acting and finely tuned character work. By taking on voice acting this time, she is set to once again prove her presence as an all-round entertainer who crosses the boundaries of genre and medium.
Meanwhile, “Hoppers” is directed by Daniel Chong, creator of the We Bare Bears series and a contributor to works such as Cars 2 and Penguins of Madagascar.
