[Financial News] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) is reportedly moving to sell three of the four homes owned by Minister Han Sung-sook.
On the 9th, MSS announced that Minister Han has begun the process of selling three of the homes registered in her name, excluding a single-family house in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
According to an ad hoc asset disclosure for public officials released in January by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee, Han owns four properties in her name: an apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul valued at 2.73981 billion won, a single-family house in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul valued at 1.5 billion won, a single-family house in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province valued at 630 million won, and an officetel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul valued at 2.07463 billion won.
Among these, the single-family house in Yangpyeong County and the officetel in Yeoksam-dong had already been put on the market as of the 4th. It now appears that she has also decided to sell the Jamsil-dong apartment, which is known to be where her mother lives.
President Lee Jae-myung also posted on X (formerly Twitter) the previous day, saying, "If we allow a single person to buy up hundreds of homes, then no matter how many tens of thousands of homes we build and supply, it will inevitably be insufficient," issuing a warning to owners of multiple homes.
Meanwhile, MSS stated, "The single-family house located in Gwangsa-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province is jointly owned by Minister Han and her family, so it is not subject to either retention or disposal."
