Financial News – Starbucks Korea announced on the 8th that it will strengthen its lineup by introducing new mini whole cakes every season, in line with the rise of single-person households and increasingly segmented dessert demand.
This winter’s "Strawberry Fraisier Cake" has received positive reviews for its size, which is ideal for one or two people, and its striking appearance topped with strawberries. More than 400,000 units have been sold so far. Originally launched as a Christmas season limited item, its sales period has been extended.
For this Valentine’s Day season, Starbucks newly released the "Strawberry Ganache Fraisier," which is gaining attention as an everyday dessert cake and spreading by word of mouth. The "Strawberry Ganache Fraisier" features a rich chocolate flavor suited to Valentine’s Day and a visual that highlights the cross-sections of strawberries.
Starting with last year’s collaboration with Harry Potter on the "Happy Birthday Harry Cake," Starbucks has introduced a variety of mini whole cakes that make use of seasonal ingredients and concepts, including the "Kitchen205 Strawberry Cheesecake," "Black Sapphire Cheesecake," and "Shine Muscat Fresh Cream Cake."
Each time a mini whole cake is launched, more than 200,000 units of each product are sold.
A Starbucks representative said, "As customers continue to respond positively, we plan to keep introducing mini whole cakes that capture the mood of each season and further strengthen our differentiated competitiveness."
