[Financial News] He conquered the world with his face even before winning a gold medal. South Korea’s figure skating star Cha Jun-hwan (25, Seoul City Hall) has been crowned the top "visual king" of the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics.
Fashion magazine Vogue Hong Kong on the 7th (Korea time) released a list of 13 "Most Handsome Athletes"—male competitors from around the world at these Games who deserve the most attention for their looks.
Among a field packed with global stars, the coveted No. 1 spot went, unsurprisingly, to Cha Jun-hwan.
Vogue introduced him as "Korea’s Ice Prince" and lavished praise on his appearance.
The outlet wrote, "Cha Jun-hwan has a clear and calm aura, as if a beauty filter has been applied," adding, "The way he creates a world entirely of his own the moment he steps onto the ice is breathtaking."

What makes this selection even more intriguing is the caliber of his rivals. Following Cha Jun-hwan on the list were "ski emperor" Johannes Klæbo of Norway, snowboarder Ayumu Hirano of Japan, and China’s short track star Liu Shaoang. Beating out some of the world’s most famously handsome athletes, Korea’s "figure prince" has effectively hung an appearance gold medal around his neck.
However, Cha Jun-hwan’s true value is revealed not in his face, but on the ice.
This is already his third Olympics. He set the record as the youngest Korean male figure skater to compete in Pyeongchang, then produced a miraculous top-five finish in Beijing. Now in Milan, he is aiming for a new career high.

Fans will get to see the performance of the "No. 1 visual king" starting tonight. Cha Jun-hwan will skate in the men’s single short program of the figure skating team event at 3:45 a.m. on the 8th (Korea time), using it to fine-tune his condition.
As Vogue noted, the world’s female fans are fixing their gaze on the blades of his skates, eager to see how Cha Jun-hwan—who has "taken his technique and emotional expression to another level"—will set the ice in Milan ablaze.
