According to Financial News, a woman in her 20s in the United Kingdom has become a hot topic after revealing that she operates a cleaning company and makes around 8 million won per month.
On the 5th (local time), The Sun reported that Niamh Hough, a 22-year-old woman from Warrington in the UK, recently disclosed the weekly income from her cleaning business, NE Cleaning Solutions.
The total amount Hough earned over five days, from Monday to Friday, came to 1,014 pounds (about 2 million won). She said, "I start work early in the morning and usually finish around 3 p.m.," adding, "I still have work-life balance."
More specifically, she worked seven and a half hours on Monday and earned 268 pounds (about 530,000 won). On Thursday, when her workload was the lightest, she worked only five hours and brought in 138 pounds (about 230,000 won).
Including the 234 pounds (about 460,000 won) she made on Friday, when she worked the longest at nine hours, her total for the week comes to roughly 2 million won.
At this pace, Hough earns more than 8 million won a month. This far exceeds the typical starting salary for a university graduate or the average office worker’s pay in the UK.
There have, of course, been difficulties. Hough confessed that she has often faced people looking down on her, saying she is "just a cleaner."
She said, "I am not interested in competing over whose job looks more glamorous," and emphasized, "Cleaners are essential to society, and it is valuable work that someone absolutely has to do," expressing strong pride in her profession.
The video in which Hough shared her story has gone viral on social media (SNS), racking up a high number of views.
Online commenters reacted by saying, "It is admirable that she can think this way at 22," "It is cool to see her focus on her own gains rather than other people's opinions," "There is no such thing as a lowly job when the money is earned through hard work," and "I am jealous of that level of income while finishing work at 3 p.m."
