President Lee warns stock manipulators face total ruin, vows tough response to financial market crimes

According to Financial News, President Lee Jae-myung on the 6th commented on an investigation into several reporters at a media outlet who allegedly made unfair profits through so-called front-running, saying, "Stock price manipulation will ruin your life and your family."
The president shared a news article about the case on his social networking service (SNS) account and left this message.
Front-running refers to using non-public information to gain unfair profits. Earlier, the Joint Task Force for Eradication of Stock Price Manipulation even carried out a search and seizure at the headquarters of the media company where the reporters work.
President Lee has been repeatedly stressing on SNS his determination to crack down hard on activities that disrupt financial markets. On the 14th of last month, he wrote, "The warning that stock price manipulation will ruin your life and your family is not an empty threat. Invest properly." On the 29th, he added, "The stock exchange is like a department store. If there are many rotten or fake products, who would go there? Of course, pickpockets must also be thoroughly policed."
