Food can make or break a trip. This is increasingly true for overseas travel, where demand is rising for gourmet tours that focus on dishes you can only taste in that particular country.
Hanatour has introduced a wide range of products that put gourmet experiences at the center, from Michelin Guide restaurants to night market tours. A flagship package is “Yami (Night Flavors): 4 Days in Taiwan,” a trip to a food lover’s paradise. Travelers visit famous restaurants such as Din Tai Fung and Seomun Guesthouse, and sample local specialties including beef noodle soup, teppanyaki, and hot pot.
At Raohe Night Market, one of Taiwan’s best-known night markets, visitors can enjoy street foods such as baked dumplings and mango shaved ice. In the trendy Dadaocheng area, they can listen to live performances while savoring beer and food truck dishes.
Gourmet-themed trips are also gaining attention in Hanatour’s Mingling Tour series, which targets travelers in their 20s and 30s. The “Mingling Tour – Gourmet Singapore 5 Days” package features influencer Healthy Bean and includes Singaporean staples such as bak kut teh, dim sum, satay, chili crab, kaya toast, and guo bao rou as core menu items. During free time, participants can team up with peers to seek out additional foods and restaurants of their choice.
Another highlight is “Taste of Spain & Portugal 10,” a best-selling package that combines 10 major tourist attractions with 10 different local dishes. Travelers can try paella, gambas, jamón, calamari, sangria, bacalhau, and more, and also enjoy a wine tasting at the Port Wine Museum in Porto. The itinerary includes a special meal at a rooftop restaurant overlooking Barcelona, where guests can take in the city views while dining.
A Hanatour representative stated, “We developed these gourmet tour products in line with the trend of viewing food not just as a simple meal, but as art and experience,” adding, “Since food is such an important part of travel, we plan to further expand programs built around gastronomy.”
