Assets of 10 Senior Police Officials Disclosed... Former Police University President Oh Moon-gyo Reports 3.44 Billion Won

[Financial News] The assets of 10 senior police officials at the rank of senior superintendent general or higher have been made public.
The Public Service Ethics Committee in the Government on the 30th disclosed the assets of 362 high-ranking public officials, including 10 from the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA). The disclosures cover officials whose status changed between July 2 and November 1 last year due to appointment, promotion, or retirement.
Among the senior police officials whose assets were disclosed, the largest amount was reported by Oh Moon-gyo, former President of Korean National Police University, who retired last September, with total assets of 3,447,850,000 won. He reported, among other items, a pre-sale right to an apartment in Dongjak District, Seoul, and a jeonse leasehold right to an apartment in Jangan District, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, as well as deposits worth 1,589,140,000 won and virtual assets valued at 786,320,000 won.
The official in active service who reported the largest assets was Kim Jong-chul, Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency Commissioner, who was appointed last September. Commissioner Kim declared total assets of 1,748,860,000 won, including a jeonse leasehold right to an apartment in Songpa District, Seoul, along with deposits and stocks.
Lee Jong-won, Commissioner of the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Police Agency, reported assets of 838,140,000 won, including a multi-family house in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, and listed stocks. Kim Young-geun, Commissioner of Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency, reported assets totaling 949,540,000 won, consisting of a building valued at 550,000,000 won and deposits of 342,360,000 won, among others.
In addition, Kim Won-tae, Director General of Public Security Intelligence Bureau at the KNPA, reported assets of 830,970,000 won, including a townhouse in Jongno District, Seoul, in his name. Hong Seok-ki, Director of the Investigation Bureau, National Office of Investigation at the KNPA, disclosed assets of 15,370,000 won, including an apartment in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, registered under his spouse’s name.
Kwak Byungwoo, Spokesperson of the Korean National Police Agency, reported 1,270,460,000 won in assets, including an apartment in Yangcheon District, Seoul, and deposits. Choi Bohyun, Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, declared total assets of 432,190,000 won, including a multi-unit dwelling in Songpa District, Seoul, in his name, as well as deposits and stocks.
