[The Financial News] Trending chef Son Jong-won is set to reveal the inside of his own refrigerator.
According to Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) on the 30th, Son Jong-won and Kim Poong will appear as fridge owners on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,' airing at 9 p.m. on the 1st.
The episode is themed as a "Chefs' Party" special and will feature the highly anticipated "2026 Chef & My Fridge Awards."
The chefs show up in glamorous suits reminiscent of an awards ceremony. When the two MCs point out, "It's actually not awards season right now," Choi Hyun-seok quips, "If you go by the lunar calendar, it's the end of the year," prompting laughter.
The "Chef & My Fridge Awards" consist of the Best Couple Award, Best Performance Award, and the Best Dish Award, the last of which is decided by votes from the chefs themselves.
In particular, the Best Performance Award pits original "dance machine" Chef Jung Ho-young against rising "dance rookie" Chef Park Eun-young.

On the show, Son Jong-won also opens up about why he is drawn to writer Kim Poong. Loved for their "elite prince" and "tomboy heroine" personas, Son Jong-won and Kim Poong recently ranked first and second, respectively, in the Integrated TV and OTT Non-Drama Cast Topicality Rankings for the fourth week of December, released by Good Data Corporation.
Son Jong-won reveals, "Because of writer Kim Poong, I once broke down in tears during filming," and goes on to explain why he cannot help but be attracted to Kim Poong, whose personality is the complete opposite of his.
He also shares his secrets for self-management. When his refrigerator is shown on TV for the first time, neatly lined rows of bottled water and drinks, along with ingredients meticulously labeled with dates, appear, leading the chefs to exclaim in amazement, "Those are the labels restaurants use."
Son Jong-won further reveals his personal routine, saying, "It's uncomfortable to cook when my body feels heavy, so I manage myself consistently," and, "When I crave something sharp and refreshing, I drink sparkling water; at night, if I want something with texture, I eat paprika or broccoli." Hearing this, Chef Yoon Nam-no shakes his head and jokes, "If I had to live with that fridge, I'd be depressed," sending the studio into fits of laughter.
