[The Financial News] How should we understand the inequalities and divisions in our society, the present and future of democracy, and the role and responsibility of citizens?
The new book "Refresh" seeks to answer these questions through the medium of books. Compiled from serialized pieces in "Jandari Seoga," the online book review journal run by the Segyo Institute through the scholarly collaboration of humanities, social science, and literature researchers and civil society activists, this volume brings together reviews of 32 carefully selected titles. Through these works, researchers in each field offer intellectual coordinates for reflecting on contemporary Korean society.
The essays in the book discuss titles that were published in the past but still serve as valuable resources for understanding current domestic and international social issues and political situations, and for exploring new alternatives. It also includes books that have attained classic status in their respective fields.
