[The Financial News] The cause of death of popular American YouTuber Adam the Woo (Adam the Woo) has been revealed. He was 51.
According to foreign media including Daily Mail on the 27th (local time), his father Jim Williams recently disclosed the autopsy results on social media. Jim said, "My son had atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and as a result he died of a heart attack in his sleep," adding, "In short, it was natural causes."
He continued, "Because of health issues he may not even have known about, he passed away peacefully in his sleep," and appealed, "Please remember Adam, a beloved son and a friend to so many people."
Adam the Woo was found dead last December at his home near Orlando, Florida. At the time, the sheriff's office conducted a welfare check at the request of an acquaintance and reported that they found him collapsed on a bed inside the house. There were no signs of forced entry or any indication of foul play.
Born David Adam Williams, he began his YouTube career in 2009 and gained popularity with vlogs visiting abandoned theme parks, film and TV shooting locations, and unusual roadside attractions.
His first channel had about 400,000 subscribers, while his second channel, "TheDailyWoo," reached around 760,000 subscribers. He also had more than 80,000 followers on Instagram.
Known for his content on Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland, he described himself as an "’80s pop culture nerd" and said he was "just documenting adventures" and did not take himself too seriously, a stance that resonated with fans. Stories about how he once lived in a van while traveling have also become a well-known part of his background.
After news of his death broke, fans and fellow creators shared tributes. YouTuber Justin Scarred said, "We lost Adam. He was truly one of a kind," adding, "The world never fully knew the warm and generous heart that was behind the camera."
Fans also commemorated him with messages such as, "He will be remembered for a long time by fans in Central Florida and around the world" and "His videos were a part of our lives."
