[Financial News] Nongshim announced on the 28th that its Shin Ramyun was featured on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", a popular talk show on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), on the 26th local time.
"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is one of the most famous TV programs broadcast across the United States and has enjoyed strong popularity for more than 20 years since its debut in 2003. The show is considered a must-stop program for the President of the United States, Hollywood actors, and singers, and it boasts top ratings among adults in their 20s to 40s who drive consumer trends.
On the episode that aired, Shin Ramyun appeared as a prop in a comedy sketch and was naturally woven into the storyline. In a lighthearted scene, popular cast member Guillermo Rodriguez, worn out from his tough daily life, eats Shin Ramyun’s "deliciously spicy" noodles, feels happy, and regains his energy.
After the broadcast, the clip uploaded to the official "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" YouTube channel drew positive comments from local viewers, such as, "It’s refreshing to see my usual Shin Ramyun show up on Jimmy Kimmel Live!", "Seeing Shin Ramyun late at night makes me want to eat it right now", and "I’m also curious about the creamy Shin Ramyun Tomba."
Nongshim believes the appearance is significant because it shows Shin Ramyun has expanded its influence into the mainstream American pop culture sphere. The company has recently promoted Shin Ramyun in the US market through various local marketing efforts, including digital ads in collaboration with "KPop Demon Hunters" and outdoor advertising in Times Square.
A Nongshim representative stated, "Shin Ramyun appearing on a major US broadcast network program means its status has risen beyond a simple food product to an icon representing K-food," adding, "We will continue to use diverse content to deliver the value of our global slogan, 'Spicy Happiness In Noodles' (SHIN, the spicy happiness contained in our ramyun), to consumers around the world and further solidify our position as a global brand."
