[The Financial News] A story has gone public that, after a concert by the female duo Davichi, one person has been suffering dozens of phone calls a day, drawing wide attention.
On the 27th, the Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JTBC) program "Case Chief" featured the account of a tipster, identified as A, who said they suffered damage after a real phone number in use was used for stage production at a Davichi concert.
Davichi had held their "2026 Davichi Concert TIME CAPSULE: Connecting Time" at KSPO Dome in Seoul on the 24th and 25th.
At the concert, the Davichi team handed out business-card-style flyers to the audience bearing the phrases "Do you know what a time capsule is?" and "If you want to connect time, call now," along with two specific years written as numbers joined by a hyphen (-). The same image was also shown on the big screen and shared with the crowd.
The phone number printed on the card carried special meaning for Davichi, such as their debut year. However, apart from the "010" mobile prefix, it was identical to A's actual cell phone number.
Fans who saw the promotional material actually dialed the number. Because calls would connect even without adding the "010" prefix, A's cell phone reportedly kept ringing.
A complained, "Now that videos from the Davichi concert are spreading on YouTube and social networking services (SNS), I'm even getting calls from fans who didn't attend the concert."
A added, "I even considered reporting it to the police, but instead I left multiple inquiries and messages on Davichi's agency and the members' social media accounts," and continued, "Today I received an apology from the agency, along with a response that they would post a notice on the official website to prevent any further damage."
Meanwhile, on the same day Davichi's agency CAM WITH US stated through its official social media account, "The number printed on the business card used in the staging of the 2026 Davichi solo concert 'TIME CAPSULE: Connecting Time' was used for performance production purposes and is not a phone number for actual contact."
The agency went on to say, "The current owner of that number is suffering damage due to incoming calls, so we ask that you refrain from calling that number."
