Trump Says He Will Work Out Tariff Solution With South Korea

The Financial News New York City correspondent Lee Byung-chulPresident Donald Trump of the United States of America (U.S.) said on the 27th (local time) that, regarding his previously announced plan to raise tariffs on South Korean products, "We will work out a solution with South Korea."
Before departing from the White House for Iowa that day, President Trump was asked by reporters about his plan to increase tariffs on South Korean goods. He replied, "We will work out a solution." He then reiterated, "We will work out a solution with South Korea."
His remarks are being interpreted as leaving open the possibility of withdrawing or adjusting the planned tariff hikes through consultations with South Korea.

Meanwhile, the previous day President Trump used his social media platform Truth Social to criticize delays in the passage of a special investment bill for the U.S. in the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He announced that, as a result, he would raise tariffs on South Korean products such as automobiles back to 25% from the current 15%.
