\rAs U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that tariffs on automobiles from the Republic of Korea (South Korea) will be raised from 15% to 25%, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jung-kwan is heading to the United States. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has also begun working urgently to prepare response measures.
\rOn the 27th, an official from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources said, "We are currently assessing the situation regarding the U.S. announcement, and based on this, we will discuss response measures at a meeting of relevant ministries chaired by the Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy at Cheong Wa Dae (the Blue House)."
\rMeanwhile, Minister Kim, who is traveling to the United States, plans to seek consultations with Minister Howard Lutnick after he has fully assessed the situation.
