[Financial News] Actor Kwon Sang-woo, 49, has apologized for appearing completely drunk on a show.
On the 19th, under a video posted on the YouTube channel "Salty Brother Shin Dong-yup," Kwon Sang-woo commented, "I’m sorry to those who felt uncomfortable because I was too drunk. I hope you’ll look kindly on me. I have a low tolerance, but I kept knocking back my drinks. I’ve been staying off alcohol since then."
Earlier, Kwon Sang-woo appeared on the show with fellow actors Moon Chae-won and P.O, his co-stars in the film "Heart Man." They drank with hosts Shin Dong-yup and Jung Ho-cheol while promoting the movie.
In line with the show’s drinking-talk concept, Kwon Sang-woo kept drinking, and as the program went on, his face turned red and his eyes appeared glazed.
He especially seemed drunk as he showed affection toward P.O with remarks laced with profanity and by putting his arm around his shoulder. While sharing behind-the-scenes stories about kiss scenes, he said, "There are so many kiss scenes in the movie that the director and I worried Moon Chae-won might feel burdened as an actress, but I was relieved because she handled them in such a fun, relaxed way," then turned to Moon Chae-won and added, "You enjoyed it, didn’t you, honestly."
Taken aback, Moon Chae-won tried to smooth things over, saying, "I think you’re a bit drunk now, so you can slow down on the drinking." Kwon Sang-woo replied, "On this show, Salty Brother, they can cover everything in editing anyway, right? But is my face really red now? To be honest, I’m a bit tipsy."
Right after the video was released, some viewers criticized how drunk Kwon Sang-woo appeared, saying it made them uncomfortable. As complaints piled up in the comments, he posted a direct apology there within an hour of the video going public.
Meanwhile, "Heart Man," starring Kwon Sang-woo, was released on the 14th. The comedy follows Seung-min (played by Kwon Sang-woo), a man who returns and desperately tries not to lose his first love again, only to find himself entangled in a secret he can never reveal to her.
