[Financial News] A scene of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni entering the country holding her 10-year-old daughter Ginevra’s Blackpink light stick is drawing attention.
On the 19th, the YouTube channel Giorgia Meloni News released footage of Prime Minister Meloni arriving at Seoul Air Base on the 17th. Stepping off her official aircraft to a welcome from a Korean traditional honor guard, Meloni was holding a Blackpink light stick in one hand, while her daughter Ginevra, who accompanied her, caught the eye wearing a Blackpink cap.
Prime Minister Meloni first met President Lee Jae-myung of South Korea last September at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City, where she said that her nine-year-old daughter is an ardent K-pop fan and is very interested in Korean culture in general.
In addition, it is known that she attended a Blackpink concert in August last year in Milan, Italy together with her daughter. During the summit talks on this visit as well, Prime Minister Meloni emphasized, "As you know, in my daughter’s case, she is a K-pop fan."
According to Vanity Fair Italy, this is not the first time Ginevra has accompanied Prime Minister Meloni on an overseas trip. Ginevra traveled with her when she entered Canada for the Group of Seven (G7) Leaders' Summit (G7 Summit) last June, and she was also by Meloni’s side when the prime minister visited Japan on the 15th as the second stop of her official tour of Asia, following the Sultanate of Oman.
