[Financial News] Netflix’s hit variety show “Culinary Class Wars” has confirmed production of Season 3.
On the 16th, Netflix announced via its official social media accounts that it has begun recruiting contestants for Season 3 of “Culinary Class Wars.”
The key change lies in the eligibility requirements. Unlike Seasons 1 and 2, which were individual competitions, Season 3 will feature restaurant-versus-restaurant battles. Accordingly, chefs who currently work together at the same establishment must apply as a team of four.
Any type of cuisine is welcome, but individuals cannot apply on their own. Teams made up of acquaintances or arbitrarily assembled members who do not belong to the same establishment are also ineligible. However, chefs from different branches of the same restaurant brand may form a single team and apply.
“Culinary Class Wars” is a Netflix original survival reality show in which “white-spoon” star chefs, officially recognized by the Michelin Guide and other authorities, face off against “black-spoon” chefs—lesser-known but highly skilled cooks—in intense cooking battles.
Season 1, released in 2024, generated huge buzz and became the first Korean variety show to top Netflix’s global non-English TV show chart for three consecutive weeks, enjoying worldwide popularity. Building on that success, Season 2 was produced and released late last year, and it has continued the show’s momentum by ranking No. 1 in the non-English TV category for two consecutive weeks.
Season 3 will once again be led by producer-director Kim Eun-ji of Studio Slam and writer Mo Eun-seol, the creative team behind the success of Seasons 1 and 2.
“Thanks to viewers around the world who have shown so much love through Season 2, we are now able to produce Season 3,” Kim Eun-ji said. “We will do our utmost to create a show with an evolved format and even more fun that fully lives up to what viewers expect from ‘Culinary Class Wars.’”
