Ministry of National Defense launches official spokesperson social media account on X... “We will engage in direct communication with the public”

The official social media X (formerly Twitter) account @MNDSpokesperson of the Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense (MND) has been launched.
On the 15th, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated that this move goes beyond the existing publicity approach centered on press releases and briefings, and is part of efforts to communicate directly with the public on key defense issues.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense Jeong Bit-na said, “Social media (SNS) is the space where we can communicate most closely with the public,” adding, “We will transparently and sincerely convey the military’s core missions and carefully explain defense policies so that we can steadily build public trust.”
Going forward, the Ministry of National Defense plans to use the spokesperson’s official social media account to provide swift explanations on major issues and share stories from defense workplaces, thereby strengthening its efforts for digital communication with the public.
