[Financial News] A story about a dog that visits the same grave every day in an American cemetery has gone viral online.
On the 12th (local time), People magazine reported on a photo of a dog that the Mason County Animal Shelter in Maysville, Kentucky, had posted on its Facebook account on the 7th.
In the photo, the dog is standing next to a grave in Maysville Cemetery. The headstone reads, "Kenneth G. Brammell 1945–2025."
The shelter explained that, after receiving a report about the dog, an animal control officer went to the cemetery every day to feed it and gradually gained its trust, and that the dog has now been moved to the shelter. The shelter also asked the local community for help in finding out why the dog kept visiting the grave every day.
At first, the shelter thought the dog might have been the pet of the deceased, Brammell, or had some special connection to him. However, Brammell’s family, who were contacted by chance, said that he had not kept a dog.
Brammell’s nephew commented on the shelter’s Facebook post, writing, "That is my uncle’s grave. He was born in Maysville but spent most of his life in Lexington, Kentucky, and was a very kind man. He did not have a dog, but it makes me so happy to see this pup finding comfort by his side."
The shelter said it has given the dog the name "Peanut" and is continuing to search for its owner.
