[Financial News] Wemade Max Co., Ltd. announced on the 12th that it has designated this year as the first year of its leap as a global portfolio company and will begin in earnest to implement its mid- to long-term growth strategy centered on a five-core-studio system.
The five core studios under Wemade Max Co., Ltd.—Mad Engine, WEMADE CONNECT Co., Ltd., Wemade Next, Oneway Ticket Studio, and Lightcon Co., Ltd.—will maintain independent operating structures optimized for their respective genres and markets, while at the group level they will be run in a way that shares global strategies and brand direction.
To expand its global business this year, Wemade Max Co., Ltd. plans to actively broaden its strategic partnerships with overseas developers, intellectual property (IP) holders, and publishers.
Core subsidiary Mad Engine is positioning this year as a turning point to become a global developer covering both PC and console platforms. While stabilizing live services for Night Crows at home and abroad, it is preparing to launch services in China, and in the second half of the year it is developing Night Crows 2 (working title) as a key momentum driver for a rebound in performance.
Project TAL, a PC and console action role-playing game (RPG) now in development for a planned global launch next year, saw its first official trailer released in October surpass 2 million cumulative views.
In addition, the company is actively pursuing portfolio diversification by launching new project task forces (TF), including one for the new subculture title MO TF.
WEMADE CONNECT Co., Ltd. will strengthen its identity and operational expertise as a subculture game publisher based on the performance of Lost Sword. It plans to sequentially unveil a number of new titles this year, including its strategic new subculture release N.O.A.H.
Wemade Next has led the expansion into China and global markets as the development hub of The Legend of Mir IP franchise. It is focusing on building an advanced IP that delivers a clearly differentiated experience from existing Mir titles across overall game structure, content design, and live service methods.
Oneway Ticket Studio aims to internalize its in-house development and publishing capabilities in the global indie market on Steam. The zombie extraction shooter The Midnight Walkers is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on the 29th and is being developed with a goal of an official launch in the third quarter.
Lightcon Co., Ltd. will strengthen its role as an execution-focused studio targeting the global market with casual games. It is preparing to launch a new title utilizing the Wind Runner IP and a roguelike game.
Son Myeon-seok, CEO of Wemade Max Co., Ltd., said, “The year 2026 will be a critical time when change is essential for survival and will serve as a turning point for completing a diversified growth structure across global markets, genres, and platforms,” adding, “Based on each studio’s expertise and autonomy, we will leap forward as a sustainable global game developer.”
