[The Financial News] Chef Sung Ahn, who is currently serving as a judge on the Netflix variety show "Culinary Class Wars: Season 2," has issued a warning about the circulation of forged dining vouchers for his fine-dining restaurant Mosu Seoul.
On the 10th, Chef Sung Ahn posted a message on his social networking service (SNS) account that read, "Mosu does not issue tickets like this. I hope no one else falls victim," along with a photo. The image showed a fake ticket that had been forged with the English name of Mosu Seoul, a specific date and time of "7 p.m., January 24, 2026," and even what appeared to be Chef Ahn’s signature.
This warning is seen as a move to prevent consumer damage after a listing recently appeared on a secondhand marketplace platform advertising a "Mosu Seoul dining voucher" for about 1.2 million won, which turned out to be a bogus ticket.
Mosu Seoul had previously been caught up in a fraud scheme in March last year. At the time, a group posing as telecommunications company employees reportedly tricked the restaurant into setting up call forwarding by claiming there had been a fire nearby, then called customers with reservations and siphoned off their deposits.
Mosu Seoul is a renowned fine-dining restaurant that was awarded three stars in the MICHELIN Guide 2023. After more than a year of restructuring, it reopened in March last year.
Meanwhile, according to Netflix’s official site Tudum on the 11th, "Culinary Class Wars: Season 2" ranked No. 3 globally in the non-English TV category as of the 8th. Since its release on the 16th of last month, it has remained near the top of the rankings and has held the No. 1 spot domestically for three consecutive weeks.
