A woman in the United Kingdom (UK) has attracted attention for revealing her own 'extreme saving methods,' such as collecting shower water for cleaning and diluting her shampoo with water.
On the 7th (local time), The Sun reported the story of a woman who runs the TikTok account 'Frugal Friday.' She describes herself on her Social Networking Service (SNS) as a 'frugal yet realistic penny pincher' and shared her unique shower routine.
In the video, she places a bucket inside her shower to collect the hot water that falls while she washes. She explained, 'I use the hot water collected during my shower to clean the floor by adding cleaning detergent,' but added, 'To save on detergent costs, I usually clean the floor only about once a month.'
Her frugality is also evident in her use of bathroom products. Holding up Private Brand (PB) shampoo and conditioner, she said, 'I mix a little water into my shampoo and conditioner to make them last longer.' Pointing to several bars of soap in her bathroom, she added, 'These soaps were given to me about five years ago, and I still haven't finished using them.'
She also avoids shaving her legs to save on razor costs and only purchases small towels instead of large ones to prevent unnecessary spending. The roll-on deodorant she currently uses is reportedly more than two years old.
The video has garnered over 480,000 views on TikTok and other SNS platforms, drawing significant attention. Reactions have been mixed: some praised her thriftiness, while most commented, 'I couldn't live like that,' 'That's too extreme,' and 'I'm concerned about hygiene.'
