Meanwhile, Ahn Sung-ki passed away on the morning of the 5th after falling unconscious at home on the 30th of last month due to food getting stuck in his throat. He was 74.
Ahn Sung-ki made his debut in the 1957 film "Twilight Train" and starred in more than 170 films, including "Whale Hunting," "Two Cops," and "Silmido," earning the love of the nation as a beloved actor.
On the 5th, the government posthumously awarded Ahn Sung-ki the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit, the highest honor in the field of popular culture and arts.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) explained, "The late actor was recognized as a national actor who bridged generations through his performances and shared his life with Korean cinema.
