[Financial News] MrBeast, the world’s top YouTuber with over 400 million subscribers, directly addressed requests from some fans to save NewJeans.
On the 6th (KST), local media outlet EMPIRE reported via its official X (formerly Twitter) account that fans were flooding MrBeast's TikTok comments with requests to help Danielle of NewJeans.
Over the past week, some NewJeans fans have left comments on MrBeast’s social media accounts, including Instagram and TikTok, asking him to 'acquire Hybe,' 'save NewJeans,' 'help Danielle,' and 'bring Danielle back.' The hashtag #mrbeastsavenewjeans, meaning 'MrBeast saves NewJeans,' has also been spreading.
In response, MrBeast stated during a live broadcast on the 7th (local time), "Recently, some NewJeans fans have been asking me to help them."
He continued, "From what I understand, Danielle (a NewJeans member) is involved in a lawsuit worth $30 million (about 43.1 billion KRW), and people seem to want me to acquire the group," adding, "Are they (NewJeans) actually up for sale right now?"
A friend replied, "Unless you acquire all of Hybe, there’s not much you can actually do, and that’s not realistic."
MrBeast expressed confusion, saying, "I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to do," and asked, "Are they asking for a donation, or do they want me to raise awareness so more people know about the situation?"
This commotion began on December 30 last year, when ADOR, NewJeans’ agency, filed a damages lawsuit worth about 43 billion KRW against Danielle, her family, and former CEO Min Hee-jin.
Since then, some fans have started a rather odd campaign on MrBeast’s social media, asking the wealthy YouTuber to acquire Hybe and save NewJeans.
In response, MrBeast questioned on his own social media on the 6th, "What do I need to do?"
However, it seems unlikely that MrBeast could realistically acquire Hybe.
Hybe’s market capitalization is about 14 trillion KRW, while MrBeast’s net worth is estimated at around $2.6 billion (3.76 trillion KRW).
