Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) announced on the 7th that it is participating in CES 2026, held in Las Vegas, USA from the 6th to the 9th, together with 21 domestic water companies. The corporation is presenting AI-based water management technologies and their real-world applications.
At this year’s CES, K-water is showcasing the future direction of the water industry by highlighting technologies accumulated in actual operations, such as the AI Water Treatment Plant and Digital twin-based water management. The exhibition focuses on advanced water treatment using AI, water quality prediction and anomaly detection, and disaster response automation—demonstrating the broad application of these technologies.
K-water has gradually implemented AI and digital technologies at water treatment plants, dams, and water resource operation sites, enhancing operational efficiency and stability. Notably, its Digital twin technology, which has proven effective in flood response, is now recognized for its competitiveness overseas, expanding from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Japan to the USA.
The exhibition features numerous private companies alongside K-water, all possessing innovative AI-based water management technologies. Solutions on display include AI drone-based automatic water sampling and real-time water quality analysis, early detection systems for floods, droughts, and leaks using satellite imagery, AI-powered smart water quality diagnosis platforms, and autonomous robots for internal inspections of water treatment plants. Among these, seven companies have received CES Innovation Awards, demonstrating their technological prowess.
K-water plans to leverage CES 2026 as an opportunity to connect its accumulated public-sector experience in AI water management with the technological capabilities of private companies, aiming to expand the global competitiveness of the entire water industry. The corporation also intends to broaden overseas demonstrations and commercialization of AI water management technologies, while strengthening export foundations through public-private cooperation.
Yoon Seok-dae, President of K-water, stated, "As AI becomes part of everyday life, we are accelerating innovation so that 'AI for All' can be realized in the field of water management." He added, "CES 2026 will serve as a catalyst for AI-driven water management, jointly led by the public and private sectors, to become a future growth industry."
