[Financial News] Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie (50) has reportedly sold her home in Los Angeles and is preparing to move overseas.
On the 7th (local time), People magazine reported, "Jolie's house is being shown to pre-screened buyers after some remodeling," adding, "She is ready to live a life not centered in Los Angeles."
The property Jolie put on the market is the Cecil B. DeMille Estate in Los Feliz, Los Angeles, famously home to the legendary Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille for about 40 years until his death in 1959. Jolie purchased the estate in 2017 for $24.5 million (about 35.5 billion KRW).
Built in 1913, the building spans 1,022 square meters (about 11,000 square feet) and reportedly features six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, four fireplaces, and a wine cellar.
Citing a source, People magazine explained the reason for the sale: "Jolie is passionate about many projects and is in good health," adding, "She is looking forward to 2026 and the freedom she will enjoy then."
Last August, People magazine also cited sources saying Jolie wanted to move abroad. At the time, the magazine reported, "Jolie never wanted to live only in Los Angeles. She had no choice due to custody issues with her ex-husband Brad Pitt," and added, "She plans to relocate as soon as her youngest twins, Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie, turn 18 next year."
Jolie is expected to leave the United States and split her time between Europe and Cambodia. Page Six reported, "This year, Jolie will run her fashion collection and boutique, Atelier Jolie, in New York, while also spending time in Europe and Cambodia, which she has long considered her second home, to maintain her privacy."
Jolie's connection to Cambodia dates back to 2000. While filming 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' there, she witnessed the harsh realities faced by refugees and began her humanitarian work. In 2002, she adopted her first son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, then seven months old, from an orphanage in Battambang, Cambodia. She has since carried out various relief activities and was granted honorary citizenship by the King of Cambodia in 2005.
Jolie has six children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Since their divorce, all the children have reportedly been living with Jolie.
