[Financial News] Former Justice Party lawmaker Park Won-seok commented on the sudden admission of far-right YouTuber Ko Sung-kuk into the People Power Party, stating, "This is a signal that the Jang Dong-hyuk leadership is heading towards its end."
On the 6th, appearing on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) radio's 'Kwon Soon-pyo's News High Kick,' Park noted that Ko, a prominent hardline conservative YouTuber with 1.33 million subscribers, joined the People Power Party on the 5th. He analyzed, "This move aims to expel the Han Dong-hoon faction and fully transform the party into a Yoon Again force, pushing it further to the far right."
Park continued, "He is a businessman who turns into a consultant for candidates during general elections. I believe he joined the party based on his own calculations."
He added, "Jeon Han-gil and Ko Sung-kuk have already joined, and attorney Gye-ri Kim (former legal representative for Yoon Suk Yeol) will likely pass the membership review soon. If so, the People Power Party will become a party with no filters left."
Park also raised concerns about Ko's past actions. He pointed out, "Ko Sung-kuk was a key figure behind the downfall of Hwang Kyo-ahn's United Future Party. Hwang followed his advice, which led to disaster."
He further criticized, "Before Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached, during his public address, he almost exactly echoed what Ko said on Go Seong-guk TV. Ko is also the person who ruined the former president."
Park also expressed concerns about the future direction of the People Power Party.
He remarked, "If that person comes in and starts acting as Jang Dong-hyuk's strategist, it will be 'Hwang Again,' a return to Hwang Kyo-ahn and the United Future Party. Even though conservatives have painful memories of internal division, how can there be unity or alliance with such people? Ultimately, I fear the party will reach a point where they cannot stay together."
