[Financial News] It has come to light that a developer who received internal disciplinary action at Kakao Corporation for sexual harassment has resigned from Toss shortly after joining the company.
According to the internet industry on the 6th, an incident where a female employee was sexually harassed by her superior at Kakao Corporation was reported by the media. Toss reportedly confirmed that the developer, Mr. A, was the perpetrator of the harassment and subsequently let him go.
Last year, Mr. A received a three-month suspension following allegations of sexually harassing a female subordinate.
Previously, on social networking services (SNS) such as X (formerly Twitter), it was shared that Mr. A left Kakao Corporation last month and moved to Toss.
On the anonymous community Blind, Mr. B, who identified himself as someone who moved from Kakao Corporation to Toss, posted that 'Developer Mr. A, who was accused of sexual harassment at Kakao Corporation, joined Toss in December last year.' He also raised questions such as 'Who recommended this developer to Toss?' and 'Did Toss's reference check system function properly?'
Mr. B stated, 'When I met Mr. A in the past, I found him to be extremely rude,' and asked, 'Can anyone share what kind of personality Mr. A displayed while working at Naver Corporation and Kakao Corporation?'
Afterward, posts calling for the developer's dismissal also appeared on Toss's internal Blind community.
