According to the management office of Hanguk Apartment in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, Mr. A, a security guard who had worked at the apartment for the past three years, suddenly collapsed while on duty at around 5 p.m. on the 1st of last month.
It was reported that Mr. A suffered an acute myocardial infarction in the break room after finishing cleaning up fallen leaves.
Mr. B, a fellow security guard who found Mr. A collapsed, called emergency services. Mr. A was transported to the hospital by paramedics and, after surgery, overcame a critical moment.
Upon learning of the situation, residents of the apartment voluntarily began a fundraising campaign to support Mr. A's recovery.
Residents set up a donation box in front of the apartment complex and collected a total of 3.3 million won, which was recently delivered to Mr. A's family.
Mr. A's son, who received the donation, expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to the residents for remembering and supporting my father."
Park Sung-chul, head of the Hanguk Apartment residents' association, stated, "I am grateful to the residents who shared in the pain of the security guard," and added, "I hope he makes a full recovery soon."
