[Financial News] On the 5th (local time), Chinese President Xi Jinping stated during a summit with President Lee Jae-myung that "we must stand firmly on the right side of history and make the correct strategic choices."
During the summit held that afternoon at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, President Xi emphasized, "China must steadfastly safeguard the direction of friendly cooperation with the Republic of Korea," adding, "The cooperative partnership between our two countries should develop along a healthy trajectory."
He further noted, "As global changes accelerate and the international situation becomes more complex, the responsibilities of our two countries in maintaining regional peace and promoting global development have become even more important."
He reiterated, "Both countries should contribute positive energy not only to improving the welfare of our peoples but also to the development of peace in the region and the world."
Additionally, President Xi remarked, "As friends, we should visit and communicate frequently. The leaders of China and the Republic of Korea have met twice in just two months, realizing reciprocal visits," and evaluated, "This demonstrates that both sides attach great importance to the relationship between our countries."
He added, "I welcome President Lee's state visit to China. In the new year, I look forward to working together with you."
