In Florida, United States, an incident at Disneyland has drawn attention after a staff member threw himself in front of a massive rubber ball rolling toward the audience during a show, preventing a potential accident.
According to social media platforms such as TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), the accident occurred on December 31 of last year during an Indiana Jones-themed attraction at Disneyland.
The performance recreates a scene from the film where Indiana Jones narrowly escapes after being chased by a giant boulder inside a temple.
However, the large rubber boulder, which was used as a prop, veered off course during the show, rolled across the stage, and headed toward the audience. Most of the spectators at the time were children, so a major accident could have occurred.
At that moment, a male staff member quickly ran in front of the audience and blocked the boulder with his body. The man, who was struck by the 181kg ball, was knocked down by the impact, but managed to divert the ball’s path, preventing any injuries among the spectators.
Disney confirmed the incident and told National Broadcasting Company (NBC), "We are focused on supporting our team member as he recovers."
Viewers who saw the video praised the act, calling him "a true hero who saved the children," "remarkably brave for acting on instinct," and "a moment that highlights Disney’s culture of safety."
