On the 29th of last month (local time), international outlets such as the Free Press Journal and The Economic Times in India reported that Baba Vanga had identified seven major topics for events expected to occur this year.
Baba Vanga, whose real name was Vangelia Pandeva Gushterova, was a blind mystic from Bulgaria. Even after her death in 1996, she has continued to be called the 'Nostradamus of the Balkans' for her predictions of global crises.

Although there are no written records of her prophecies, followers and various media outlets claim that she foresaw the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the September 11 attacks (9/11), and major natural disasters.
She reportedly predicted large-scale global conflicts, catastrophic natural disasters, a severe economic downturn, loss of human control over Artificial Intelligence (AI), and even contact with extraterrestrial life.
The first issue Baba Vanga highlighted was the possibility of a major global conflict arising from geopolitical tensions among leading powers such as the United States of America (USA), China, and Russia.
Experts note that conflicts such as the 'Taiwan issue,' the 'Russia-Ukraine war,' and the 'Israel-Hamas war' are unfolding in various parts of the world and could potentially escalate further.
She also predicted a shift in global power. According to Baba Vanga, the center of power would move to Asia, particularly China. In fact, reports from UK tabloid newspapers have described this year as one in which China's influence could expand significantly. Taiwan has also been frequently mentioned as a focal point of tension.
Additionally, she suggested the possibility of political changes and leadership uncertainty, specifically hinting at political upheaval in Russia. Followers of Baba Vanga believe that she predicted the emergence of a new Russian leader in 2026.

Baba Vanga also foresaw that the global economy would suffer a significant blow due to currency crises, increased market volatility, and worsening inflation. She predicted that financial turmoil beginning in 2025 could persist into 2026, further deepening uncertainty in global markets.
She also made meaningful predictions related to science.
She predicted that earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and extreme weather events would destroy about 7–8% of the Earth's land area. Scientists explain that climate change is intensifying abnormal weather patterns and that rising global temperatures are increasing the risks of floods, wildfires, and earthquakes—facts that are scientifically confirmed.
She further suggested the possibility that humanity could make first contact with extraterrestrial life this year. This prophecy has gained attention since the discovery of the interstellar object Comet 3I/ATLAS, first observed by the ATLAS telescope at Río Hurtado, Republic of Chile, in July.
Another topic, which many hope will not come true, is related to Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to foreign outlets such as The Mirror, Baba Vanga warned that the rapid advancement of AI could lead to machines beginning to dominate key areas of human life.
Regarding Baba Vanga's prophecies, Sky History in the United Kingdom (UK) commented, "Baba Vanga reemerges whenever the new year feels uncertain," adding, "Although her predictions are often criticized as lacking evidence and being retrofitted, there are still those who firmly believe in her abilities."
