The Financial News – Singer Sean announced that he will donate the entire 100 million won he earned from YouTube last year.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel 'With Sean' on December 31, Sean shared, “It’s already my fifth year since starting YouTube. This year, I worked really hard, and I think the results were quite good.”
He added, “For the past three and a half years, there was almost no revenue from the YouTube channel. There was even a time when I received only $20 (about 30,000 won). This year, it seems possible, so I plan to do a year-end settlement for 2025.”
Sean confirmed that the total annual views on his YouTube channel reached about 81.3 million. Monetizing this amounts to approximately $78,700, which exceeds 100 million won.
Sean expressed, “I hoped to donate around 100 million won at the year-end settlement, and thanks to all of you, I earned 100 million won this year, so I will donate it.”
He continued, “Since last year, my second child, Harang-i, said he wanted to do something meaningful after watching me. While running, he decided to help build a school for Koryo-saram in Anseong. After hearing this, Jennie Kim also donated 100 million won, and I donated the same amount that year. However, it is still not enough. Since the school needs to be built quickly for the children to receive a good education, I will donate the entire 100 million won to construct the Rodemnamu International Alternative School for Koryo-saram children in Anseong,” drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Sean is widely recognized as a leading 'donation angel' in the entertainment industry, consistently engaging in charitable giving and volunteer work.
