[Financial News] Mr. A, a married man accused of having an inappropriate relationship with singer Sook-haeng, asserted that "Sook-haeng is also a victim."
On the 1st, through the 'Yeon-ye Dtopresident Lee Jin-ho' channel, Mr. A explained the circumstances of meeting Sook-haeng and addressed the allegations.
According to Mr. A, the two first met in August 2024 at a dinner with acquaintances. Mr. A said, "I contacted Sook-haeng when I purchased the grilled short rib patties she sells as Chuseok gifts for my company employees." He added, "At the time, Sook-haeng's manager was hospitalized, so when she attended events, she had no one to accompany her. That’s why I went with her on business trips to places like Busan."
He continued, "My wife found out about this and seemed to think I was dating Sook-haeng. But at that time, we were not in a romantic relationship," denying the allegation.
Mr. A stated that his relationship with Sook-haeng grew closer after he began living separately from his wife in early February last year due to marital issues. He said, "Having married young, I had never lived alone, so I asked Sook-haeng for help," and added, "Around April, I expressed my feelings to her."
He went on to explain, "At the time, I was separated from my wife with divorce as the premise. I told Sook-haeng that I was preparing for divorce and that it was practically finalized. Sook-haeng was very anxious at first, but as she became more accustomed to the situation, I think she eventually forgot I was married and became complacent."
The reason for the delayed divorce was related to their children. Mr. A explained, "My wife had requested a divorce, so I wanted to resolve things immediately, but our eldest child was about to take the college entrance exam. My wife suggested we avoid causing any disturbances during this important time, which is why we decided to live separately."
He drew a line regarding the cohabitation rumors. Mr. A clarified, "Sook-haeng lives with her younger sibling in her home in Nonhyeon-dong. While I am not denying that we were in a relationship and she did visit my place, we did not live together."
Finally, Mr. A expressed regret over the criticism directed at Sook-haeng.
He stated, "I am not denying that I was a married man when I met her, but from Sook-haeng's perspective, she may feel wronged. She believed, 'It's just the paperwork that isn't finalized; the divorce is essentially done.' In the end, she trusted only my words and was deceived. All of this happened because of me, but the focus seems to be on the idea that Sook-haeng seduced a married man and destroyed a family."
He added, "I hope Sook-haeng places all the blame on me. If she has suffered any financial loss, I will do whatever it takes to compensate her. In any case, I feel deeply sorry because she must be very hurt right now."
