According to The Financial News, a former manager currently in a legal dispute with broadcaster Park Na-rae over alleged power abuse has submitted a medical certificate indicating a two-week injury to the investigative authorities. As both sides maintain opposing claims, the police investigation is expected to intensify.
Munhwa Ilbo reported on the 2nd that Former Manager A recently submitted a medical certificate and treatment confirmation to the police.
Former Manager A claimed that during a drinking gathering in August 2023, Park Na-rae threw a glass toward their face, which shattered and caused bruising on the face and a cut on the hand that required four stitches. The manager added that they sought treatment at a nearby General Hospital emergency room.
Previously, A had alleged, "Park Na-rae verbally abused me for not drinking alcohol, and I was injured when a glass was thrown at me."
In response to these claims, Park Na-rae's side has denied the allegations, stating, "Such an incident never occurred." They acknowledged that Park Na-rae did throw a glass to the floor, but assert that A and another attendee simply cleaned up the scene after hearing the noise.
Additionally, A claimed that further injuries occurred in 2024. It was reported that Park Na-rae, A, and two acquaintances were present at the time.
The police are reportedly considering summoning the two individuals who were present at the scene as witnesses for questioning.
Previously, former managers filed charges against Park Na-rae for Special Bodily Injury and Defamation by False Statement. In response, Park Na-rae countersued them for Attempted Extortion and Occupational Embezzlement, escalating the legal battle.
