A man was caught urinating out the window of a moving car on a highway, sparking controversy.
According to the Daily Mail on the 29th of last month (local time), a man riding in a white pickup truck on a highway in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, was seen engaging in the act. The driver of the car behind witnessed the incident and recorded it on video.
In the released footage, the man is seen awkwardly standing up with the passenger door open, leaning his body out to relieve himself.
He watched as his urine sprayed into the air behind the truck and, despite the dangerous situation, was reportedly seen laughing.
After the video spread via Social Networking Service (SNS), criticism arose. Many online users expressed concern, saying, "There is no basic respect," "This is unacceptable behavior," and "A single mistake could cost a life."
On the other hand, some commented, "He probably had no choice in an urgent situation," and "It's fortunate the car behind didn't have its windows open." Others questioned why the driver did not pull over to the shoulder of the road.
Meanwhile, local media pointed out that under the Road Safety Act 1986 of Victoria and the Public Order Act, both the driver and the passenger could face penalties. Not wearing a seatbelt while driving is also subject to fines.
