[Financial News] A South Korean man in his 50s was reportedly arrested by local police in Sapporo, Japan, after consuming drinks at a bar without paying, arguing with staff, and even damaging the establishment’s glass.
According to Newsis News Agency on the 30th, Sapporo Television Broadcasting (STV) reported that the Chuo Police Station in Sapporo, Hokkaido, arrested a 51-year-old South Korean man, identified as A, on the spot for property damage on the 28th.
A is accused of ramming his body into the entrance door and breaking the glass at a bar in Sapporo’s Chuo Ward around 11:30 p.m. on the 28th.
According to police, the bar demanded 3,500 yen (about 32,200 won) from A for food and drinks. In response, A refused to pay, shouting "No money," and got into a dispute with an employee.
As A tried to leave the bar, he brushed off the staff’s attempts to stop him and rammed into the door, breaking the glass.
A was arrested at the scene by police who responded to the report.
A, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, told police during questioning that he would speak to a lawyer.
Police are currently investigating the details of the incident.
