[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung unveiled the unboxing of the Key to the White House sent by U.S. President Donald John Trump.
On the 30th, President Lee posted photos and a video of himself opening the golden key box on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
He also included a brief description in the post.
President Lee wrote, "Could this be the key to the White House?" and added, "If you’re not there when I visit next time, can I use this key to open the door and come in?" ending with a laughing emoji.
He continued, "I hope this Key to the White House, filled with a strong will for communication, will open the door to an even stronger Korea-U.S. alliance. I am always grateful for your unwavering friendship and deep trust."
The message was also posted in English. Instead of 'haha,' a laughing emoji was used.
A 57-second video was also uploaded to Instagram.

At his office desk, President Lee said, "Shall we try unboxing this?" and opened a wooden case engraved in gold with President Trump's signature.
The inside of the case was also decorated in gold, featuring an engraving of the White House.
President Lee remarked, "They say it’s a golden key," as he took the key from the box and examined it. He added, "It says 'KEY TO THE WHITE HOUSE.'" Looking at the other side, he explained, "On this side, it says 'President Trump.'"
He joked, "They say if the White House door doesn’t open when I visit the U.S., I can use this key. I’ll have to check if that’s true," before placing the key back in the box and closing the lid.
This Key to the White House was given by President Trump on the 16th during a meeting with Ambassador Kang Kyung-wha, in return for the Crowns of Silla replica he received during his visit to Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in October. At the time, President Trump reportedly said, "I received a very precious gift during my visit to Korea last October."
This key is the last of five produced by the White House.
Previously, Chief Presidential Secretary Kang Hoon-sik revealed the news of President Trump's key gift on his Facebook page on the 24th.
